Green Electricity Revolution in the Philippines

on Monday, November 22, 2010

Electricity is one of the most common forms of energy in the world today. Electricity is the presence and flow of electric charges to generate power. It is a form of energy utilized on all sectors of society; from highly developed urban areas to the countryside. It is widely used because of its efficiency and ease of distribution. It is usually generated through dams and hydroelectric power plants. The Philippines is one of many countries that heavily rely on electric power.

Electricity even though it is the main power source in the Philippines, is still somehow insufficient to meet the demands of the country’s busy and growing populace. There are still areas in which electricity is unavailable, while on those areas in which it is available several still experience frequent power outages. These outages are the result of the limited capacity of dams to supply the water needed to produce electric power. This limited supply is also being worsened by the lack of rainfall in the southeastern country.

A revolution in energy technologies has chosen the Philippines to be its home and the place where the Green Electricity Revolution will begin. Green Electricity is electricity that cares for the environment. It is generated with little amounts of green house and carbon emissions making it cause only immaterial amounts of added pollutants into the atmosphere. Hence, it has no significant negative impact to our environment. Thus, it is a great solution to prevent further worsening of the dilemma in air pollution. And this miraculous form of electricity is being brought to the archipelago by True Bio Electric (TBE).

The TBE Green Electricity takes environmental friendliness to a whole new level. Not only does it contribute very little to air pollution, it also helps solve the problems in waste management. This is because the source of its power is solid waste. It uses solid waste as its feedstock. It breaks waste down to its purest components and manipulates these components to form extremely hot steam. The resulting steam of pure energy is then processed into power generators that produce clean electricity.

TBE Green Electricity is like hitting two birds with one stone. One solution will solve both air pollution and solid waste pollution problems. And since solid waste is something no one wants, getting rid of it to create energy is just like producing energy for free. It will also remove the expenses incurred in the operation and maintenance of landfills. Since the solid waste will all be transformed into electric power, the need for landfills will be no more together with other waste disposal costs.

Green Electricity is bound to start supplying power to the Philippines by 2011. Different Philippine local governments have already signed deals with TBE regarding the installation of Green Electric Power Facilities in their respective cities. The first plant is already near completion and will soon undergo the final testing phase.
